Practices are required, under the GMS contract, to allocate a named accountable GP to all patients, including children. This named accountable GP is responsible for the patient’s overall care at the practice.
At Frithwood Surgery the GPs work closely together so this will not affect your ability to make an appointment or speak with any of the GPs in the practice.
Your named GP has been allocated to you by the practice. If you have a repeat prescription the name of your accountable GP will be printed on the bottom of the right hand page of the prescription. If you do not have a repeat prescription and wish to know who your accountable GP is, please ask at your next appointment.
If you request an emergency appointment it will be with any of the doctors who have an available appointment. New patients registering with the practice will be allocated a GP within 21 days of registration.
If you were registered with Frithwood Surgery before 1st April 2015 and were aged over 75 or took part in the Unplanned Emergency Admissions service provision you will already have been allocated a named accountable GP and this will not change.
If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact the surgery and speak to the practice manager, Clive Fenney.
